The Department of the Chief Minister and the Department of Defence are working together to bring a module of the 2016 Defence and Industry Study Course (DISC) to the Northern Territory.
The DISC is a prestigious national program run by the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group of Department of Defence. The course equips industry executives with the knowledge to better engage with Defence procurement and offers insights to doing business with Defence, while facilitating business introductions and forging relationships with other defence sector participants.
This year there will be 57 participants nationally, including two from the Northern Territory.
It has been approximately 15 years since a DISC module has been held in the Northern Territory. The Northern Territory Government is keen to support DISC as it is an excellent opportunity to showcase the industry capacity and the infrastructure supporting Defence in Northern Territory. Having the DISC module in the Northern Territory also provides an opportunity to illustrate how Defence fits into the broader Northern Australia Development agenda and reiterates the importance of locating Defence presence and activity in northern Australia.
The Northern Territory component of the 2016 DISC will run from 27 to 29 July 2016.
