A summit to conclude the Northern Territory Population Series will take place at Darwin Convention Centre on Tuesday 2 August 2016.
Renowned social commentator and demographer Mark McCrindle will join a panel of community leaders and experts including Chief Minister Adam Giles and radio personality Julia Christensen.
The panel will discuss feedback Territorians provided during the Northern Territory Population Series which took place at six regional forums during June and July.
These forums were held at Nhulunbuy, Katherine, Tennant Creek, Palmerston, Alice Springs and Darwin.
The series was organised by the Northern Australia Development Office to help Territorians consider the challenges and opportunities of population growth in their own communities.
General Manager of the Northern Australia Development Office Luke Bowen said it was exciting to have Mr McCrindle as part of the line-up for the summit.
“As an experienced trends analyst and social researcher Mark will provide a different lens for us to look through and we look forward to listening to his presentation and insights into population growth and change in the Territory,” he said.
“During the summit we will also hear from a panel of local identities and experts who will discuss some of the emerging population trends as well as the input associated with population presented by Territorians from their own communities.”
The summit will take place at the Darwin Convention Centre from 5pm to 7pm.
To assist with planning, Mr Bowen invites members of the public to register their attendance by calling the Northern Australia Development Office on 1800 733 458 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
